PINECREST HOUSE

Set into a hillside site in Altadena, Pinecrest is organized around the relationship between privacy, light, and views toward the surrounding canyon. The main living spaces are lifted above the street, with changes in ceiling height and carefully placed clerestory glazing bringing natural light deep into the home while maintaining privacy from neighboring properties. The result is a house that feels open to its setting without being exposed to it.
